How to find out about the Games in bad weather:
As beach volleyball is an outdoor sport, we have to let you know that ALL OF OUR BEACH LEAGUES WILL RUN RAIN OR SHINE. Only in EXTREME and unpredicted weather circumstances will we not run our leagues. Cancellations will occur on-site (e.g. lightning). On extreme weather days, please feel free to call our weather hotline at (416) 426-7300, the line will be updated at 4:30pm only if play is cancelled. If you do not hear a game cancellation message, kindly proceed to the beach. Please do not leave a message asking to be called back about play for that night. Your cooperation is appreciated.
What will the league be like - just for the elite players or for every skill level?
Our goal is to operate well organized leagues that are inclusive and offer everyone an opportunity to play regardless of skill level. Whether you are beginner, recreational, intermediate, advanced or an elite player, we will have a place for you to play and enjoy beach volleyball at Ashbridges Bay.
We structure the leagues in a manner that ensures your team is playing in the appropriate division, and that your matches are competitive and fun. Our objective is to ensure that everyone has fun and enjoys the experience, both on and off the court!
Do you charge people for use of the courts outside of league and tournament play?
ABSOLUTELY NOT! The OVA’s objective is to encourage more beach volleyball participation and NOT establish barriers to participation. In fact we are exploring ways in which to increase the number of available courts for public use at NO charge during any regularly scheduled OVA competitive events or OVA organized events.
Do I have to become a member of the OVA in order to play in the adult recreational leagues?
Becoming an OVA member is not a requirement to play in the adult recreational leagues. If you want to participate you simply register your team and teammates and you are welcome without any membership prerequisites.
Will participants from the previous leagues be allowed to play in the leagues?
Everyone will be welcome to participate. There will be no restrictions. Our objective is to be inclusive and not exclusive.
